Helen Anderson is the senior paralegal with more than twenty years of experience specializing in civil litigation; she is highly skilled in case management, pre-trial preparation and trial. You may use Helen as an additional resource for any questions you may have or assistance you need.

Helen was born and raised in San Diego and majored in Criminal Justice Administration at San Diego State University. Her initial career included 9 years as a correctional counselor (institutional and parole program) for the California Dept. of the Youth Authority before becoming a paralegal in 1987. While working fulltime and training on-the-job with an attorney-mentor (Robin H. Fairbairn, Esq. of Paso Robles), she completed the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (CSU) in 1989.

Helen served as president of the Board of Directors of the Central Coast Legal Assistant Association during 1990-1993. Upon relocating to San Diego in 1993, Helen was employed for 4 years for a firm specializing in medical malpractice on behalf of plaintiffs, where she gained expertise in medical issues, review of medical records, working with physicians and medical experts, and intimately working with clients who had severe medical disabilities. In 1996, Helen joined a San Diego-based firm specializing in business litigation, where she worked for 3 years until her boss, the Senior Partner, was appointed by President Clinton to the federal bench; on behalf of that firm she traveled extensively to work on cases throughout California and other states, including a complex case in Honolulu federal court; she also provided training to attorneys and other paralegals.

From 1999-2003, Helen was employed by the international firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison as the Senior Litigation Paralegal in its 100-attomey San Diego office, specializing in business defense litigation; at Brobeck, she mentored, trained and supervised other paralegals and trained associate attorneys in civil litigation procedure. When Brobeck dissolved in 2003, Helen was employed briefly as a Senior Litigation Paralegal at the San Diego office of the Los Angeles-based firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker before returning to the Central Coast to join James R. Murphy, Jr., A Law Corporation.

Helen has 22 years of solid professional experience in litigation and courtroom trial practice. Her unique talents and skills in civil litigation include preparing cases for trial, working alongside attorneys during trial (in California and Hawaii state and federal courts), and utilizing computer technology to provide state-of-the-art demonstrative visual presentations in the courtroom.
